Zanzibar Beach Holiday
Discover Paradisiac Tropical Luxury
Welcome to Zanzibar! An archipelago made up of several islands, with the largest being Zanzibar Island (also known as Unguja) and the smaller Pemba Island. It covers an area of 1,660 -sq km, in the Indian Ocean, about 40km off the coast of mainland Tanzania.
Zanzibar features some low hills in its western and central regions, with the highest point reaching around 120 meters above sea level. In contrast, Pemba Island is characterized by a central ridge intersected by numerous small valleys, giving it a hillier appearance. However, its highest elevation is only about 95 meters above sea level.
A beach holiday in Zanzibar offers not only a perfect tropical escapade, but the lifestyle here is a stark contrast to Tanzania’s mainland safari experience. The island is enveloped in an exotic blend of warmth, humidity, and aromatic spices, creating a romantic atmosphere that reaches deep into the soul – unlocking your deepest sense of adventure and fascination.

Perfectly situated on the east coast of Unguja, Paje is mostly known for its long stretches of several kilometers of sugar-white sand beaches, making it one of the longest and finest beaches on the island. The water is emerald-blue and the year-round strong winds have made it one of the best destinations for kite-surfing and other interesting marine activities.
While it is relatively built-up, it’s also very wide, with an average of 30 metres between the water and palm trees at low tides, featuring a variety of spots within walking distances. You definitely won’t have any trouble finding a spot for your beach towel in Paje! Unlike other beaches on the island, Paje receives far fewer tourists and maintains laid-back vibes, so it’s a great place to relax or try your hands at kite surfing.

Outside, the slave monuments serve as a memorial to the countless lives impacted by this dark era, inviting visitors to reflect on the past while appreciating the significance of this historical site.

Today, it’s best known for its colony of giant tortoises, originally brought from Aldabra, Seychelles in the early 20th century. The island also features a small beach and a nearby reef ideal for beginner-level snorkeling. As our guest, you have the honor to explore the former residence of British governor General Lloyd Matthews. This little island is now a privately-owned retreat, reserved only to guests of the island’s resort.
